I have weaned the baby mice from mom, and are now ready for their new homes. These are a COMMUNAL Species. I would prefer them to go in PAIRS, as they will be miserable without another of their own kind. They are very friendly. Basically they look like little Mice, but with Hedgehog quills on their back, and are friendly and handable like Rats. They are omnivores. They eat Rat/Mouse blocks as a stable in their diet. They also need Mealworms, or Crickets in their diet as well. They actually will chase and pounce the crickets, while eating the meal worms like spaghetti. I also give them fresh veggies every second day. They go crazy for Coconut, as well as Sweet Potatos. I am posting a link for a very helpful website with great care information. It is not my website, but I really think it is worth a read if you are considering these little guys. http://members.shaw.ca/petitepaws/spiny.html purrfectdarkness Fri, 30 Jul 2010 21:24:56 -0400 Baby Corn Snakes for Sale. http://thereptileforum.com/forum/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=509

by: purrfectdarkness

Description: *Corn Snakes are very docile and make great beginner snakes for kids.* I just hatched out a bunch of baby Corn Snakes. I think they are gorgeous, but I may be a bit bias. If you have any questions, or would like to put your name down for one, send me an email. They will be ready to go in a couple weeks. With two kids I just don't have the time to really deal with the setup even though I want to. What I have is as follows: - 55 gallon tempered glass tank (all sides/bottom) 48” x 12” x 21” (I think) Inside is a false bottom to drain the plants. This holds around 8 gallons of water which is then pumped up using a small fountain pump and runs down a half round cork bark piece as a stream. It then falls into a small pond of sorts. The edges of the pond are made using Mopani wood. The tank has a centre divider brace in the top. The openings on each side are filled in with homemade screen lids. One lid has both misting system nozzles in it (one on each end) and a R-Zilla Fresh Air Cord Access Port to allow the water pump cord through without letting crickets escape. http://www.zilla-rules.com/products/fresh-air-cord-access-port.htm All of the plants are real and they include creeping fix, pothos, waxy plants and I don’t remember the names of the rest. The back and side walls are all covered with some chipped cork bark panels that plants will grow into (the creeping fig is doing a great job of that now). - Perfecto Sedona oak stand and canopy with a natural finish (no stain) http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=16781 - 2 x 24” light fixtures with 2 x 18” Repti-glo 2.0 bulbs - 2 x Current USA Lunar Light - Nocturnal Blue LED lights for night time viewing http://www.bigalsonline.ca/BigAlsCA/ctl3664/cp17949/si1318758/cl1/currentusalunarlightnocturnalblue - Mist king misting system with 2 nozzles, run dry pump, extra tubing, and a “seconds timer” that allows you to set on/off intervals as low as 1 second - Portable RO/DI unit included with 1 extra RO membrane, and an extra of both filters (I think they are 10 and 100 micron or something like that) and 2 DI canisters. - A large critter keeper for crickets plus the remaining cricket food, water bites, vitamins and calcium supplements that I have left - And of course, two adult red eyed tree frogs (one male, one female) I’m looking for around $850 OBO for everything. If anyone is interested please PM me. The next one is a reddish hue to him and is ready to breed to Maisy he is eating well on rat pinkies or fuzzies, he could eat larger but I feed a couple smaller meals to ensure they are eaten without any problems. The last in the deal is produced by Roy Stockwell he is of the Santa Isabellaish group he has. The snake is an awesome white and black a stunning speciman. The animals are being sold as I realized we have far too much on out plate at this time and have to reduce the collection. Too bad really these are an underated animal in my opinion. Please reply to DTCMUMA@hotmail.com I have 2 mature female iguanas I no longer wish to care for as my life has become uber busy and I dont spend as much time with them as I had planned when I had bought/rescued them. I wish for them to go to a home where they can be handled more than once a week, and fed every day. The one is missing an eye and has healing burn marks along her back beside her spikes and doesnt look very attractive at all with missing part of her tail, but she eats well and drinks well and is fairly friendly and relatively easy to handle. The other is quite mean and doesnt like to be handled much at all, but is fairly healthy and attractive compared to her friend. When I took these animals I was told the one is a male, but she is clearly a female and they were fighting when I first moved them in, but are getting along quite well even during feedings. I care for my animals no matter what, but I am getting stressed with my work load lately and only will let them go to the right person. I will not alow them to be moved into a smaller enclosure, they need their space to be healthy and happy. If you cant fit their 8ft tall enclosure into your home, no need to reply. I will also not alow them to be sold for breeding or to be seperated. They are now bonded and I think their health would get worse with the stress of leaving eachother. If you have a similar enclosure you wish to use over mine, as long as they have similar amounts of space I will not mind. These girls are a finacial burden, and if you cant afford to buy them, you will not be able to afford to purchase their food or vitamins or anything else they need down the road so please dont waste my time. They cost around 20-40$/week to feed considering all I buy them is fresh vegetables and fruits. They love Okra, and definitly dandelion greens and will enjoy a banana every so often but love their snap peas or green beans too. They are eating approx 1lb of greens/fruits every day and in order for their health to keep in line they will require this type of diet for the rest of their lives. I also have several jars of vitamins and calcium that goes with them, one was vet reccomended and was pricey but worth it, it is water soluble. If you have previous iguana experience and can dedicate part of your life to raising these girls and dont mind them taking up alot of living space, you are more than welcome to make an offer and reply. But, if you are thinking these girls would be perfect for your male iguana and you want to try to fit them into your 5ft enclosure with your male to try to make a few bucks off of babies, you can keep living your life because I would like to see where these girls will be spending the rest of their years. There are so many neglected, or homeless iguanas already, breeding them for sport just isnt right. These girls will not be making anyone else any money, they just need to be happy and healthy and fed every day with proper care, so if you can provide this, please contact me as I would love to meet you. Thanks!
